Recognized for 30 years of service in March 2005. Mickie has worked for the Legislative Studies Quarterly, almost from the beginning of her 30 years at Iowa, and is widely recognized in the political science profession as the driving force behind its success. The quality of her work and her enterprise has enabled the journal to keep pace with the constantly changing technology of academic publishing and with the electronic distribution of published materials.

Recipient of the 2004 Board of Regents Staff Excellence Award. The award is given for “contributions to the University and to the State of Iowa.” It recognizes Mickie’s service to the Department of Political Science and to the political science profession.
