Kelli Shaffner is one of our many political science minors who is making a positive difference in the department and on campus.  Here in the department, she is an integral member of the Iowa Policy Research Organization that does research for Iowa legislators.  On campus, she has been a reporter for the Daily Iowan, a telefund fundraiser for the University of Iowa Foundation, and a volunteer for the Iowa Immigration Education Coalition.  She also recently returned from a service-learning trip to Peru where she studied Spanish, Peruvian culture, and race relations.  Kelli plans to graduate in 2011 with a double major in Journalism and Spanish, in addition to her political science minor.
